Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?
No. This tool generates static QR codes — the data is encoded directly in the image, so the code works forever and doesn't depend on any service staying online.
What is the error-correction level?
QR codes include redundancy so they scan even when partially damaged or covered. Level L tolerates ~7% damage, M ~15%, Q ~25%, and H ~30%. Higher levels make the code denser; H is a good choice if you plan to overlay a logo.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser using an open-source library; the text you encode is never sent to a server.
How much data fits in a QR code?
Up to 4,296 alphanumeric or 2,953 binary characters at the lowest error-correction level, though codes that large become hard to scan. Short URLs scan most reliably.
